Our Story

Reynolds Holiness Church began in 1931 with house-to-house prayer meetings after Bro. Hughie Reynolds saw a vision and was told by God that a church was to be built at this location. The first church building was built in 1932 using rough pine lumber and hand-cut wood shingles. Pastor Gay Johnson in 1950 started the first annual 10 day Campmeeting under a tent and in 1953 the first open-air tabernacle with sawdust floors was constructed. In 1972 the old church building, having been remodeled several times, was moved down the hill and construction on a new block and masonry church was begun and later finished in 1975. The open-air tabernacle was finally dismantled in 2000 and our current sanctuary was built over the top of the existing church and where the tabernacle had been. In 2021 we began having an annual youth camp on the grounds called Lower Alabama Youth Camp.
